About Eng 299

This blog will serve as both a virtual discussion space and ongoing archive for English 299: Games and Literature. Eng 299 is an experimental course in literature and new media, developed in the English Department at Clackamas Community College, and offered for the first time during Spring quarter of 2007. The goals of this course aim to promote cultural literacy through the lenses of traditional literature and visual rhetoric, and also to introduce literature students to the emerging field of game studies.

A syllabus of specific student outcomes, assignments and a reading schedule can be found here; visitors to this website who are not students officially enrolled in the course are free to download and use the course syllabus under the Open Education Resources Commons guidelines articulated here. All handouts, podcasts and online assignments contained on this website are similarly available for public use.  Here is the RSS feed.
